Where Do Oahu Dinner Cruises Depart From?

Where Do You Board?

One of the first questions when planning an Oahu dinner cruise is simply where to go to get on the boat. Most Oahu dinner cruises leave from one of a few harbors on the south shore, all a short drive from Waikiki. Knowing your departure point ahead of time, and where to park, makes for a relaxed, on-time evening. Here is what to expect.

The Main Departure Harbors

Oahu’s dinner cruises sail from a handful of harbors clustered around Honolulu and Waikiki. The exact one depends on which boat you book, so always check your confirmation. The most common are:

  • Aloha Tower Marketplace, at Honolulu Harbor, home to several of the larger dinner-cruise ships.
  • Kewalo Basin Harbor, near Ala Moana, a hub for catamarans and mid-size vessels.
  • The Waikiki and Ala Wai area, used by some smaller sailing cruises.

All of these sit within about 10 to 20 minutes of Waikiki, so wherever you are staying, your boat is not far.

Parking and Getting There

If you are driving, most departure points have parking nearby, though it varies. Aloha Tower Marketplace has a parking garage with validation options, and Kewalo Basin has lot parking that can fill up on busy evenings, so arrive early. Many guests find a rideshare is the easiest choice, since it drops you right at the dock and you do not have to worry about parking or the drive home after dinner.

When to Arrive

Plan to arrive at least 30 to 45 minutes before your scheduled departure. Boats board on a set schedule and cannot wait for late arrivals, so that cushion covers check-in, parking, and finding the right pier. Arriving early also means a more relaxed start and, on many cruises, first pick of open seating and a good spot at the rail for the sunset.

Ask Us and Arrive Ready

Because the harbor depends on the specific cruise, the smartest move is to confirm your departure point and check-in time when you book, then map your route and parking in advance. Do that, and the only thing left to do is step aboard and enjoy the evening. Ask us and we will point you to the right harbor for your cruise.
